Principles for Integrating PWP into an Organization

Based on the Israeli Adaptation of the PWP Model (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners)

The integration of PWP role-holders into the mental health system in Israel is based on an On-the-Job Training (OJT) model, conducted within a multidisciplinary framework which is moving more and more into including non-licensed mental health human power such as PWPs alongside and supervised by licensed experts approved by the Ministry of Health and/or the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs.

Professionals in a PWP (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner) role can belong to various placement branches within an a public mental health organization, as long as they are affiliated with a defined professional mental health center – whether physical or virtual – which accompanies their activities through ongoing guidance, supervision, and regular learning frameworks.

Core Principle of the Program

Preservation of human capital and building a future workforce from within the organization—either from current employees in need of training or newly recruited staff.

    • 30 in-person days at the training college

  • Bi-weekly group supervision as part of the academic training

  • Employment at a minimum of 50% (half-time) in a PWP role throughout the training period

  • Use of a session documentation system to record evaluation, intervention, and supervision processes consistently
